Church Based Foster Support

Caleb Gabriele joined Ann Book for this week’s Facebook Live. Caleb and his wife have been in NWA for their whole lives, and they have been members of Grace Point Church of Northwest Arkansas for 14 years. Caleb went on staff as a youth pastor 11 years ago and has since transitioned to the role of Local and Global Missions Pastor.

Grace Point Church is one of the biggest supporters of The Call in Northwest Arkansas, but their aid and assistance for foster families and the foster system doesn’t stop at The Call. They are heavily involved with the foster and adoption community as a whole.
In his position, Caleb heads up the church’s partnership and support for the foster community.

He is passionate about foster children because of his faith. He loves Jesus, and one of the
ways he tangibly does this is through his love and service for children in foster care. He
believes that the Church as a whole is called to love those without families and support them in any way they can.

His dedication to The Call specifically stems from the opportunity for a great partnership. As he familiarized himself with the foster care system in Northwest Arkansas, he found The Call to be a great resource to learn and get more involved. He sees the organization as an excellent resource for the community, and he loves to be part of  The Call and the Church working in tandem.

While there are several things Caleb wishes more people understood about foster care and adoption, he wants more people to know about the resources available through The Call. As apastor, people often approach him with inquiries about getting involved with foster care, but he doesn’t claim to be a resource. He often directs people to The Call to receive educational resources and get connected in the foster community.

He also wants everyone to know that they can do something to assist the foster community in Northwest Arkansas. While it does take specific types of people to open their home to foster care, everyone has something to offer.

Grace Point Church does a beautiful job of connecting people with the foster care community, even if they cannot open their home. They hold events and coordinate groups that assist foster families by cooking meals, providing services, and furnishing rooms for new placements.

When it comes to foster care, it really does take a village. We are so thankful for Caleb and
Grace Point Church in Northwest Arkansas for their passion for foster care and adoption. They are a huge blessing to our community.
